A study competition with a real client to design a community management platform. 2nd place winner, based on design and functionality.
The goal was to design a platform for community managers, but aside from the title, we received no further guidelines. We had to conduct research, which we then presented to the client to define the platform’s purpose and functionality.
Throughout the process, and in collaboration with the client, the overall structure of the platform took shape—both in terms of functionality and design.

Client Brief
The project began with a meeting with
the client,
who introduced their business and outlined their
requirements for the platform.
They also requested a brand refresh alongside
the platform design
Competitor Analysis
I downloaded and analyzed several
apps related
to community management, identifying strengths
and weaknesses.
User Research
I reached out to community managers through
Facebook groups and direct connections, distributing
surveys to understand their challenges and preferences

No single platform consolidates tools and insights needed by community managers, such as tracking member engagement or simplifying event creation.
The client envisioned a platform that also offers guidance and resources for new community managers, adding a unique value proposition.
Community managers often rely on multiple tools for various tasks, such as scheduling posts, analyzing engagement, and creating events.

The primary challenge was to balance the client’s vision of a knowledge-sharing platform with the practical needs of professional community managers.
The solution involved creating a hybrid platform that combines a CRM system for managing member data and engagement with educational resources like webinars, blogs, and podcasts.

While the project showcased professionalism, a key misstep was the decision to design in English rather than Hebrew, despite the client’s preference for a local audience. This created a disconnect between the solution and the client’s immediate needs.

Although the product didn’t progress to development, the client was impressed with the professionalism and innovation.
The project earned second place in the competition, with feedback highlighting my dedication and skill, despite the missed alignment with the client’s preferences.

Client-Centric Approach: Always prioritize the client’s explicit and implicit needs, even when they differ from personal vision.
Iterative Process: A structured approach to revisions improves efficiency and results.
Scalable Solutions: Start with localized designs before transitioning to global adaptations.
With almost four years of hindsight, I recognize the importance of aligning with the client’s vision while maintaining the flexibility to present forward-thinking ideas.
Quality over quantity, a precise presentation, and client collaboration are now central to my design process.
